One of the coolest aspects of doing album reviews is that once in a while, you get to hear something that is just a little bit different from the rest of the pack. Hailing from the most \u201cCountry\u201d of all places\u2014Long Island, Maier has quite the way with crafting a song\u2014but also a pretty good way of singing it as well.<\/p>\n
I also like the artwork of this CD\u2014-comparing it to a restaurant. It\u2019s a very novel approach, but unless the music is first-class, it wouldn\u2019t have made the reviews page, right? So, let\u2019s take a look inside.<\/p>\n
The disc is chock full of songs that are great showcases for his talents. Whether a fun, light-hearted track like \u201cCrazy Like That\u201d or \u201cFlip Flops And Underwear,\u201d he can make you smile with his writing, but it\u2019s his vocalizing that really left a mark on me. Songs like \u201cLook At Us Now\u201d and the brilliant \u201cWhen Autumn Leaves\u201d are as strong lyrically and sonically as anything you would hear on mainstream radio today.<\/p>\n
One piece of advice\u2014\u2013buy this CD. But, don\u2019t listen to the title track on an empty stomach\u2026.It just might make you hungry, but once you\u2019ve listened\u2014-I think you\u2019ll be going through the musical buffet line a couple times more!<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
